Discharge/dust extraction systems:

For several years we have continually optimised the EWAE discharge/dust extraction units in our program.

E = Discharging
W = Whirling nozzles
A = Extraction
E = Discharging

The working width then amounted to a standard 1000 mm, but was adapted to the circumstances on request (for machines with cross flow, for example, 3 of these modules could be placed next to each other). The width of the units in the direction of feed was only 140 mm. This usually allowed these space-saving and high efficiency units to be installed on new plants or on existing machines without problems.

Over the years, our “EWAE” cleaning and discharge units were continually being developed. We now provide exactly the right solution for virtually for any purpose and for any working width required

Below in video format are some examples of machinery/equipment with our units mounted at the outlet:

Cleaning units on a “WEEKE” drilling line at an international office furniture manufacturer (retrofitted construction). All parts are cleaned prior to being fed into the loading magazine and can then be immediately packed and fitted.

Cleaning units built on the “Bre.Ma.” drilling and assembly lines of a large German kitchen furniture manufacturer (OEM). Behind the drilling area, but before the pressing area, for the double-sided cleaning of drawer fronts. These can then be subsequently fitted.

Example of cleaning units that have already been built and delivered by the “Bre.Ma.” machinery manufacturer (OEM).
Double-sided “EWAE800”, discharge dust extraction unit at the outlet of a “Bre.Ma” machining line. For the double-sided cleaning of varnished or plastics-coated workpieces, also for cleaning drilling holes, milling grooves and holes for concealed hinges

Example of cleaning units, which were fitted by our technicians on a “Bre.Ma.” machine at the customer’s premises (retrofitting).
Double-sided “EWAE800”, discharge dust extraction unit at the outlet of a “Bre.Ma” drilling and dowelling line. For the double-sided cleaning of varnished or plastics-coated workpieces, also for cleaning drilling holes, milling grooves and holes for concealed hinges

“EWAE” unilateral discharge dust extraction units (individually switchable) model with a working width 3.0 m at the outlet of a CNC controlled “FTT” BIESSE throughfeed drilling machine which drills and mills from above. For cleaning the surface of the workpiece and to remove the chips, also on the inside of the drilling holes

Reprint from HOB 9-2014 (as english translation) AGT Verlag GmbH Thum, Teinacher Straße 34, 71634 Ludwigsburg. About the Heid-Tech GmbH “Non-contact panel cleaning” units. With various application examples, configuration options and illustrations of these units, which are fitted to various machines.

Heid-Tech advertisment in the issue 9-2014.

Since 2001, we have included combined discharge and dust extraction systems in our program. These were extensively tested by us at well-known companies prior to the launch and are successfully used in virtually all areas of the furniture industry today.

Baureihe EWAE Here is our latest development, our EWAE series with very high efficiency and featuring 2 discharge units and multiple whirling nozzles. The working width and the number of whirling nozzles can be selected according to customer requirement and application. These units are very compact, with a footprint of only 134 mm in the direction of feed. In this way, they can be easily installed in a wide variety of machinery and equipment.

Below are some application examples:
a)

A unilateral discharge/dust extraction unit at the outlet of a WEEKE top-drilling, throughfeed drilling machine.

The parts manufactured there are stacked and packed directly without any further manual cleaning.

b) Two sample installations of discharge/dust extraction units with working widths of 800 mm and with power supply, fitted at the outlet of a “Bre.Ma” vertical drilling and assembly line.
c)

A double side discharge dust extraction unit for narrow parts (e.g. for covered profiles etc.), here with a working width of 400 mm. It is also available in a narrower version, depending upon customer requirements.

This unit is equipped with 2 discharge electrodes, 8 air whirling nozzle jets and suction area. For maximum efficiency, e.g. MDF dust that is firmly adhering because of being electrically charged.

e) Illustration of a discharge dust extraction unit (for retrofitting to existing machines) with additional blow nozzles for efficient cleaning. In order to save compressed air, the blow nozzle is controlled by a solenoid valve via a photo cell.

f)

3 “EWAE” individually switchable discharge dust extraction units with a total working width of 3.0 m at the outlet of a CNC controlled “FTT” BIESSE throughfeed drilling machine which drills and mills from above. For cleaning the surface of the workpiece and to remove the chips, also on the inside of the drilling holes. The parts are then despatched or mounted directly, without further manual cleaning.

g) A WA400 (without discharge units and with a working width of 400 mm), at the outlet of a double-sided RILESA X-Line model for solid wood processing, or more precisely for pallet frame production (cutting to length, finger jointing, drilling, collar pressing and handle milling). Here, it is natural that a very large amount of chips is caused.

The aim of this development was to construct a compact unit that can be mounted to throughfeed machines of various makes and models, for electrical discharge and the subsequent throughfeed cleaning of plastic coated chipboard or varnished surfaces.

These units operate without contact, i.e. they can also be used for sensitive surfaces. They are already partly supplied as standard equipment by various machinery suppliers, but can also be retrofitted to all suitable throughfeed machines, such as automated throughfeed drilling machines, machining centres with a continuous throughfeed system, wide belt sanding machines, varnishing machines etc.

These disruptive charges are known as triboelectric. Here it is a case of attractive forces between the wood panel surface and the chips or dust that are many times higher than their own weight. By eliminating the electrostatic attraction forces, the dust extraction efficiency can be significantly increased.

These electrical charges are caused by the machining (drilling, milling), as well as when grinding the surfaces, but even by the friction of the workpieces against each other e.g. already in the automatic/manual feed of the workpieces, as well as batch-cutting on the panel saw, feeding/stacking, etc.

The units are based on Corona discharge devices (which have proven themselves in many areas of the textile and printing industry), in connection with optimised dust extraction units with the highest degree of effectiveness.

Depending upon requirements and customer specifications, units of different working widths are produced which can be placed next to each other depending on the application. These units are available for the single-sided or alternatively double-sided cleaning of workpieces.

Due to the modular structure, a high degree of flexibility achieved with the best possible adaptation to structural conditions, with a simultaneous optimal price-performance ratio.
